Our Programs
Prayer Cells
St. James’ Church humbly depends on God for its life and ministry. In addition to Sunday worship, we have weekly prayer cells in homes as well as daily noonday prayer in the office. Prayer for healing with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil is regularly offered.
Discipleship Cells
We believe people grow in Christ most effectively when they are active
in three areas: individual devotion, congregational worship and small-group
fellowship. We offer weekly small groups for learning, sharing
and doing ministry.
Sunday School for Children
Every Sunday from September through June we offer Sunday school classes during worship for children ages 5-12.
Teen Ministry
Our ministry to teenagers is called Poiema (the New Testament
Greek word for “workmanship” or “poem.”) Every
Sunday from September through June we offer meetings for teenagers to reflect
on how biblical ideas fit with their lives.
Music Ministry
Music at St. James’ Church is both contemporary and traditional. If you play an instrument or sing, there are numerous opportunities to share your gifts.
St.
James’ Christian Academy
For the past four years, the church has operated a successful Saturday literacy program to help neighborhood children improve their reading and writing skills, and learn about the love of Jesus Christ. In September 2007, with God’ s help, we will open St. James’ Christian Academy, a Christian school. For more information about the new school, please contact Blanca Little, Director, at 203-903-0512 or stjameschristianacademy@yahoo.com
